This unbelievable Valpolicella Superiore offers bright, red cherry fruit with a hint of exotic wood and roasted coffee on the nose. Well judged tannins and nice acidity balance the palate which has plenty of very appealing cherry and blackberry fruit.
Everything you might usually expect from a Valpolicella, and a whole lot more besides.
This Valpolicella Superiore is the product of 45 year old vines from the Adami family’s estate in San Martino Buon Albergo. Taking a leaf out of the Amarone-makers' handbook, Corte Adami actually allows a short period of drying for the Corvina grapes, resulting in a surprisingly full bodied and rich style of this traditionally light red wine. To make it even more appealing, this Valpolicella spends a year in barrel to ensure that it has no rough edges.
- 90 Points Gilbert & Gaillard: "Young garnet. Spicy nose with stewed black fruit undertones, humus presence and a touch of graphite. Juicy, dense, rich palate with beautiful, closely-integrated tannins. The finish combines deliciously mouth-watering freshness and fruit."
